What do the results mean?

Analytical reports provide detailed information on the relevant legislation and guidelines where applicable. Summary statements and judgements on the sample, based on the analytical results, are also given. Hence it is usually possible for a customer to interpret the results without further advice.

Reports on water samples include comments with respect to parameters exceeding the EU Parametric Values (limits) with relevant advice on remedial action and treatment. The laboratory Annual Reports includes information on some of the water parameters. The Environmental Protection Agency (www.epa.ie) has much information on water quality.

However, customers are invited to contact the laboratory, normally the person who has signed the report, for further information and interpretation of results.
